Sarah Mariuz

Marsh & McLennan Agency, LLC

Community engagement was engrained in Sarah from a very young age. Her parents modeled volunteerism for her and her three sisters, and stressed the importance of giving back to the community that supported their family. Sarah feels especially connected with ElderHelp’s mission of providing socialization for seniors and helping them age with dignity. She sees ElderHelp as a lifeline, especially during the pandemic. “To be that voice, or that extra hand during such a critical time is more than just heartwarming. It is a necessity for our local seniors!”

With two young daughters and a flourishing career, Sarah’s home is busy, to say the least. Volunteering, and being an active member of the ElderHelp Board of Directors, allows her to connect with people she might not meet through work or family connections. “Volunteering is an awesome outlet for me — I look forward to each and every ElderHelp event and board meeting with a sense of heartfelt service.”

Sarah works as an insurance broker with the healthcare division of Marsh & McLennan Agency. Many years ago, she learned about Elderhelp from her work in the healthcare field, and from her collaboration with other senior care providers. It feels especially purposeful to Sarah that she is connecting other, like-minded individuals with ElderHelp’s mission. As Sarah likes to put it, she has the “gift of gab” and is always eager to spread ElderHelp news and rally more supporters. We’re thankful for her gift, as she puts it to good use garnering corporate support from organizations with similar goals.

“There are lots of nonprofits out there, but ElderHelp is uniquely special — it makes a difference in the community I live in. Our dedicated staff and volunteers are not just helping seniors; we are providing support to our friends and neighbors.”
