Housing Services

Housing Services Programs provide assistance to seniors in need of affordable housing.

Housing Navigation addresses barriers seniors face to maintain current housing or secure new housing.

Resident Service Coordination (available through partnerships with development and management companies) offers support and activities to residents of low-income senior buildings.  ElderHelp does not own or operate any senior housing facilities.

HomeShare: A roommate matching service connecting people who want to share their homes with those looking for housing. ElderHelp’s HomeShare program was formally evaluated by the University of San Diego Nonprofit Institute in 2019. Click here for the results.

ElderHelp’s programs are structured to help older adults maintain their independence. It is essential that you, as our member, are able to communicate directly with us, complete any assessments and interviews, and maintain a schedule. Currently, ElderHelp is unable to assist seniors with moderate to severe cognitive impairment. It is essential that the person needing help makes the initial call to begin services and is able to manage their own appointments and schedules. While it may seem easier to set up services for your loved one, the program will not be successful unless the individual who will be receiving services is interested, informed and engaged. ElderHelp does recognize the importance of a good support system and how valuable family is to the team.

Our service area is based on seeker and provider availability and we are constantly looking to expand our reach. Please click here if you do not see your zip code listed below, and we’ll update you with changes.

“I tend to be very trusting.  It was really helpful to have ElderHelp because they filtered that for me. People my age, we are vulnerable, we get taken advantage of.  Peace of mind is a big thing.”  ~HomeShare Provider
