Patty Moises

Patty Moises is a San Diego native born into a family that embraced volunteerism. She started her volunteering as a Candy Striper at Sharp Hospital with 600 hours of service. Giving back to the community is one of her objectives and bringing people together with food for charitable groups has been a lifelong focus.

During her 35 years as a teacher in the Chula Vista Elementary School District and 20 years as an event planner/caterer she organized spaghetti dinners to raise funds for various projects. Seeing the success of the events she extended the dinners to other groups (church, Meals on Wheels, The Salvation Army).

After retiring from her teaching career she immediately went to volunteering in various capacities for Meals on Wheels, San Diego’s Women’s Foundation, Polinsky Center for Children, The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, Philoptochos, North Coast Repertory Theatre and ElderHelp.

The late Peggy Matthews and ElderHelp Advisory Board Member Katie Wiest, brought ElderHelp organization to Patty’s attention. She shares, having cared for several family members through the aging process, I understand the importance of remaining independent and the comfort of a familiar environment. I’m honored to support the ElderHelp mission.”
