Concierge Club Recognition

The Concierge Club and its unique program design are receiving national attention! In September 2009, the Concierge Club was mentioned as one of California's Top Ten Innovative Community Solutions on Aging in a brief published by the California Healthcare Foundation. In December 2009, the Concierge Club was awarded the Nonprofit Management Institute's Award for Organizational Innovation. Additionally, ElderHelp was invited to present the Concierge Club at a legislative briefing in Sacramento to describe this pioneering program to a statewide audience. Most recently, ElderHelp was asked to present the Concierge Club at the statewide conference for Area Agencies on Aging.

Meet a Member

Meet Ruth! Ruth became a member of the Concierge Club after a nasty fall which left her a little less steady on her feet and on the road. She wanted to remain in her home but she needed affordable help. The Concierge Club was a perfect choice for her needs.

Ruth gets regular escorted rides to and from her doctors’ appointments, as well as getting help with her heavy groceries that are difficult to bring up the stairs to her apartment. Ruth has also been enjoying the presence her own Friendly Visitor who frequently shares Vietnamese dinners with Ruth on a monthly basis.
