Home & Garden Workshop
Longtime Home & Garden volunteers, Brian and John, have done countless projects to keep seniors safe in their homes. As demand for home safety installations has grown, it has become imperative that Brian and John’s skills and knowledge be shared with others so that ElderHelp can continue to serve seniors in the community. On Saturday, July 31, these 2 dedicated volunteers put on a special workshop at the ElderHelp office. Six new volunteers attended and were quickly put to work. Brian and John demonstrated how to install grab bars, and each attendee had the opportunity to try drilling for themselves. They also learned which tools are the best to have on hand. In the future, volunteers can sign up to shadow Brian or John on site to learn more – Let us know if you would like to shadow Brian or John. ElderHelp volunteers possess meaningful expertise, and we will continue to seek opportunities such as this workshop in order to keep our members and seniors in the community safe. We’re grateful for all of our volunteers who donate their time and talents to do that!
