Imagine not being able to drive to the grocery store? Imagine looking out your window at an overgrown garden and yard that you can’t tend. Imagine feeling isolated and alone. For thousands of San Diego seniors this is a reality. Shut in, faced with financial burdens, they struggle to stay in their homes and carry on. ElderHelp offers in-home support with basic necessities free of charge.
Together, we help seniors age in place with dignity.
- Our Concierge Club serves over 350 members monthly, providing help with personal care, grocery shopping, daily check-in, minor home repairs, and more.
- Seniors-A-Go-Go provides an average of 480 rides per month, often medically related, with escorted Door-THROUGH-Door transportation. Making sure our seniors are safe and sound from start to finish results in reduced falls in the home and fewer hospital readmissions.
Together, we help seniors stay connected to their community.
- Our unique HomeShare program offers an affordable housing option in both San Diego and Poway. Housemates provide in-home services for seniors in exchange for room and board or pay rent to subsidize seniors’ incomes.
- Volunteers are fully screened and trained to meet the needs of struggling seniors. Nearly 400 individuals have logged over 11,000 hours of meaningful service.
Together, we can make a difference.
San Diegans over the age of 60 will increase 130% between now and 2030. No senior in San Diego should be vulnerable and alone. Your continued support says you agree. Your investment in ElderHelp will give even more seniors a chance to age in place and live with dignity.
